County Courthouse

Putnam County's courthouse in Hennepin is the oldest courthouse currently in use in Illinois which has been maintained in an original form. The courthouse was built in 1839, the year Putnam County's present-day boundaries were established.

Our official Putnam County Illinois website features interactive maps for economic development, county news, county board meeting agendas and minutes, county departments, online pay services, event calendars, real estate and tax search, board members and county officials' information.

On behalf of the Putnam County Board, I and the other board members would like to say welcome to our county website.  The site is user-friendly and we are continually trying to improve it with current information on our local government.  Please check back from time to time on updated material.  Our goal is to inform and make documents accessible and open to the public. We hope the public enjoys their visit and finds the published material useful.  If there should be any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact any of us via email or in person.
