Your Putnam County Clerk and Election Authority:

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO BE ELIGIBLE TO VOTE ON MARCH 17, 2020.

  • Any person who is 17 years old by the day of the General Primary Election on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, and 18 years old by the day of the General Election on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, may register to vote through Tuesday, February 18, 2020. (Note that recent state legislation provided by A. 98-0051 has changed the age requirement for eligibility to vote in the General Primary Election); 
  • a registered voter who has changed her name by marriage or otherwise must re-register; 
  • a registered voter who has moved within the County of Putnam must change his or her address; 
  • a new resident of the county must register in Putnam County in order to vote in Putnam County. 

Registration may be made with the Putnam County Clerk at the Courthouse in Hennepin or with local deputy registrars.  (Names of the local deputy registrars in your home area can be obtained by contacting the County Clerk’s Office in Hennepin at 925-7129.)  The Putnam County Courthouse is open from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.  The County Clerk’s Office will also be open on Saturday, February 15, 2020, from 9:00 A.M. to 12 Noon for voter registration only.
