Due to the Covid-19, Coronavirus Pandemic, the Putnam County Clerk & Recorder’s Office is taking temporary measures to ensure the health and welfare of the employees of the County Clerk & Recorder’s Office, the courthouse and the general public.
Representatives of or for title companies, financial institutions, attorneys and others that are required to search land records for real estate transactions will be allowed to enter the County Clerk & Recorder’s Office by afternoon appointment only from 12 Noon until 4:00 P.M. (Contact the County Clerk & Recorder’s Office at 815-925-7129 to set up an appointment.) The courthouse will have one (1) access point which will be the main lobby door of the Sheriff’s Office. Individuals will be screened to determine entry. After entry is allowed, individuals must wait outside the County Clerk & Recorder’s Office for additional screening prior to entering. These individuals will be required to strictly adhere to the following measures:
- Individuals must wear a mask at all times
- Individuals must wear surgical gloves at all times
- Individuals must be carrying and use hand sanitizer
- Individuals must provide their own writing utensils
Individual failure to adhere to the measures set forth will be denied access.
